Class of 1955 Homepage!

Howdy "Ole Army" and welcome to the Class of '55 homepage. Keep checking back as this web site will continue to be updated and improved.

Please read the "Class Agents' Messages" and "Newsletter" sections for the latest class, classmate information and upcoming events.

-NOTICE-

Please recall that the Class of '55 has about $6,000 in a fund working towards another Class Scholarship. The Scholarship will require another $19,000 to $20,000 to be completely funded.

Recently we learned that three of our classmates were killed in action during the Viet Nam War. They were Russell Condon '55, Hadley Foster '55 and Richard (Dick) Steel '55.

It has been suggested that the scholarship now being funded be designated as another Corps Scholarship in memory of our three fallen classmates. Accordingly, if there are no strong objections to the contrary, we will have the Texas A & M Foundation convert the existing funds to the following Corps Scholarship:

The Class of '1955 Memorial Scholarship In Memory of

Captain Russell Condon '55
Major Hadley Foster '55
Major Richard (Dick) Steel '55

Contributions to that fund may be made at anytime, and for any reason, to:

Texas A & M Foundation

(The Vietnam Wall information on these 3 Classmates is listed in our "Silver Taps" section)

Dear Sir,

I am the youngest of Captain Russell William Condon, Class of '55, and I was so touched to see you all were moving your scholarship to be in his honor, along with the others from your class who fell in the line of duty.

I am interested in contributing to this scholarship, and will follow up on finding out what I need to do.

Just wanted to give my thanks to the Class of '55 and the honor they would bestow on my father.

Thanks,
Cindy Condon Morphew

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. "The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in Him." Lamentations 3:21-24

Gig'em!

There is sobbing of the strong
And a pall upon the land
But the people in their weeping
Bare the iron hand
Beware the people weeping
When they bare the iron hand.

from "The Martyr," written by Herman Melville upon the death of Abraham Lincoln.
